Very unhappy with this hospital & will Never take one of our animals there!! Not the way to treat people or animals!!! Do Not recommend.
We don't usually use the office as it's quite far from our home. However my cat, having had surgery for mammary cancer, was clearly uncomfortable when we got up Sunday morning. We had hoped for a couple more months to say good-bye, but that was not to be. The other vet we called wanted to have a complete exam before agreeing to euthanize her - pretty ridiculous for a geriatric, terminally ill cat. Waiting until we could get her to our regular vet was not an option.
On 6-13 I brought my dog here. She had a seizure. The bill was $594.00 . What I have a problem with is she was prescribed med to be taken 3 times per day. According to her discharge instruction verbetim. Should you wish to pursue the extended relase, please call us
Absolutely the best neutological care in the New England area. Highly recommend. They ARE specialists and they ARE busy because they are so good and they DO have expensive equipment and trained staff yet still keep costs reasonable for specialized care.
My husband called on 6.22 requesting a call to switch her to extended release. No return call Thursday or Friday. Called back on Saturday..on hold. Call dropped on their end. Called back and left another message. Finally 1.5 hours later a call back. Sorry "you have to make an appointment with our neurologist". What the heck. I was following there instruction.. what a poor service ripoff. They just want money. Seriously after spending 594.00? Oh and by the way I could not leave on 6.13 without a 500.00 deposit. So upset!
Vet was compassionate, techs and staff superlative.
Thank you Dr. Steinberg and staff for your AMAZING care. Sam required a specialized life-saving surgery. It is a risky procedure, and because there are only two locations in Maine that perform the surgery, we NEEDED make ensure we made the correct decision. WE DID! You saved our boy's life twice on June 15th. He went into respiratory distress upon arrival, and your rapid and expert response literally kept him alive for the surgery. From the get go, Sam was treated by Dr. Steinberg and the staff as if he was their own baby. We also truly appreciated their compassion towards the distressed Mom and Dad! These characteristics went above and beyond the necessary technical expertise. MVMC IS THE ONLY VETS WE WILL RECOMMEND. Thank you so much for saving our boy. He is doing fantastic, loving life, and acting like a young pup again. We are cherishing every day you gave us all. Thank you. Sam, Kirk, and Lorraine.
We called twice to speak about our dog who had anaplasmosis about her having platelet transfusion & the approximate cost & they were too busy to give us a quote. Want u to walk in the door & pay $90.00 to hear it is too expensive!! Called the next day & they were just starting g rounds & would call us back. Never did?! They need one person to just man the phones & answer questions for potential customers
